Using a trampoline for rebound therapy
Using a trampoline for rebound therapy
Rebound therapy for people with special needs was pioneered in the UK by Eddy Anderson in 1969 and is now offered as a form of therapeutic exercise and recreation throughout the world. Around 40% of UK special needs schools use the therapy. By using the unique properties of a trampoline, trained therapists are able to help develop balance, movement, fitness, communication and wide range of other skills for participants with mild to severe physical disabilities, including autism.
And above all it's fun. After all what other therapy gives the opportunity to lift the participant above eye level and have them looking down on you?
