Where does the word trampoline come from?
The word 'Trampoline' comes from the Spanish word ‘El Trampolin’ which means diving board. Not surprising really as the guy who invented it was a diving competitor! To this day trampolines are used in training divers, as well as cross-country skiiers, wake boarders, gymnasts, astronauts and pilots.
It is said that it was fist Inuit people that came across the accepted method of trampolining, who used to toss each other into the air using Walrus skin!
